LOUIE FROM THE BLOCK

Petal Drop

Installation in Downtown Los Angeles - February 2016

Flower petals descended from the neighboring rooftops into a slim alley way where a few of us stood at a time. On our way in we were asked to write our favorite memory of Los Angeles.

A woman in a room off to side took our memories. She copied them and sent the copies up to the archivist. She kept the originals and folded them into paper cranes, then pinned to the inner wall.

The archivist took the copies and catalogued them into one flowing paper containing all the memories of the day’s visitors.
